Oral + Systemic Health

Care and maintenance of healthy teeth and gums is an essential element to whole body health and wellness. Regular treatment to remove plaque and bacteria with the oral hygienist will help reduce the inflammation present in the gum tissues. We strive to provide our patients with regular oral cancer screenings and regular blood pressure monitoring to provide a whole-body incorporated into oral healthcare.

Restorative Dentistry

Our teeth are one of the most frequently used parts of the human body. Talking, chewing, drinking and so many more individual and social functions requires the use of teeth. Occasionally, teeth wear down, chip or fracture, and possibly develop areas of decay that require treatment to resolve. A wide range of procedures ranging from topical applications, composite restorations or white fillings and even whole tooth options are all available to treat our teeth.

A smile is one of the first things you notice about someone, so why not show yours off. The world is a better place when you are smiling. Every smile is unique to a person and everyone deserves to have a smile that fits them. Working together with an experienced dental lab technician we can design, shape and deliver a smile that truly fits you.

Clear Aligners

Teeth are an ever active part of our body and occasionally they end up migrating to areas where they shouldn’t. When teeth are mispositioned they can cause several issues with the oral system. This can result in excessive wear or improper wear patterns, pain, tooth fracture or increased risk of tooth decay. In certain cases, clear aligner therapy can help reposition the teeth into harmonious function and optimize the health of the tooth, gum and bone. Aligner therapy can be a key aspect of designing a fit and functioning smile and maintaining their position for the future.

Oral Surgery

It is a reality that on occasion, the only way to help an injured or painful tooth is to extract it. Most commonly due to fracture, infection or risk to other teeth, an extraction is done to remove the tooth and allow the body to heal the space. Our goal is to make this experience as comfortable and smooth as possible. With open discussion about prognosis, careful planning and efficient treatment, tooth extraction can be an ideally unremarkable procedure.

Endodontic procedures

Each tooth has a nerve and blood supply, which we call “The Pulp” that allows it to function and respond to the outside environment. Occasionally the pulp can become inflamed or infected if it has been exposed to bacteria, traumatized or affected in a way that requires Root Canal therapy or treatment. This is done to remove the affected nerve and blood supply then seal the canal inside the tooth to prevent further discomfort and promote healing of the tooth and surrounding tissues. In some cases, Root Canal treatment can be done as a preventative measure in conjunction with restorative work.

Periodontal surgeries

Gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis) is caused by the consistent presence of plaque and bacteria around the tooth and gum interface. The human body reacts by causing inflammation, and as a secondary defence, erodes the attached tissues in an effort to retreat from the inflamed areas. In certain cases, surgical procedures can be done to lift the gums to access difficult or misshapen areas. The goal is to reduce the areas where plaque accumulated and allow for easier cleaning and maintenance with at-home care.
